बुमराह की कमाल की गेंदबाजी के आगे श्रीलंकाई खेमा हुआ बेहाल, भारत को 218 रन का लक्ष्य कैंडी, 27 अगस्त | श्रीलंका के साथ जारी पांच मैचों की वनडे सीरीज में अजेय बढ़त हासिल करने के लिए भारत को 218 रनों की दरदार है। भारतीय टीम ने रविवार को पल्लेकेले अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्टेडियम जारी तीसरे वनडे मुकाबले में टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी कर रही मेजबान टीम को 50 ओवरों में नौ विकेट पर 217 रनों पर सीमित कर दिया। मेजबान टीम की ओर से लाहिरू थिरिमान्ने ने सर्वाधिक 80 रन बनाए जबकि दिनेश चांडीमल ने 36 रनों की पारी खेली। मिलिंदा श्रीवर्धना ने 29 रनों की अहम पारी खेली। अहम बात यह है कि दोनों खिलाड़ी स्थानापन्न के तौर पर इस मैच मे खेल रहे हैं। उपुल थरंगा पर दो मैचों के प्रतिबंध के बाद इस मैच के लिए थिरिमान्ने की वापसी हुई जबकि चांडीमल ने चोटिल धनुष्का गुनाथिलाका के स्थान पर टीम में वापसी की। भारतीय टीम की ओर से जसप्रीत बुमराह ने 27 रन देकर सर्वाधिक पांच विकेट लिए जबकि हार्दिक पंड्या, अक्षर पटेल और केदार जाधव को एक-एक सफलता मिली। भारत ने पांच मैचों की इस सीरीज में 2-0 की बढ़त बना रखी है।
